LANDINGS TENNIS AND PICKLEBALL ASSOCIATION Where The Fun Lives! |
Two days of International LTPAFUN! Everything You Wanted to Know About The Landings Davis Cup but Were Afraid to Ask! Q: What is the Landings Davis Cup? A: The Landings Davis Cup is a two day festival of music, dancing, feasting and racquet sport competition loosely based on the professional Tennis Davis Cup. Participants will be divided into four countries and will compete in Tennis and Pickleball. Q: What are the countries and who are the team captains? A: The countries are Italy, France, Germany and Australia. The team captains are our Pro Staff:
Q: How will the team assignments be made? A: You will be asked to choose a sport preference (Tennis, Pickleball, Spectator) as part of your registration. The team captains will make the team/country assignments. Q: If I register for the dinner, am I automatically registered for the Competition (and vice versa)? A: Yes. Registrations only through LTPA and not LYGTC Admin or Tennis Shop. Keep in mind that you can register as a spectator/fan(atic) if you tennis and pickleball are not your thing. Q: Can I register only for the Competition? A: Yes. There is a Player Only Option at a reduced price. Registrations only through LTPA and not LYGTC Admin or Tennis Shop. If you change your mind and want to go to the party, please click here to send us a request. Q: What is the dinner menu? A: CHECK OUT THIS INERNATIONAL MENU! Italy - Chef Attended Italian Pasta Station, Array of Garden Vegetables, Meats and Tuscan Caprese Salad France - International Cheese Boards with Rustic Sliced French Bread, Assorted Cracker Basket and Baked Brie Encroute With Wild Berry Sauce, Chicken Provencale, Creamy Risotto Australia - Carved Roasted Leg of Lamb, Roasted Root Vegetables and Potatoes, Roasted Beet Root Salad Germany - Jaeger Schnitzel with Black Forest Mushroom Ragout, Braised Red Cabbage and Apples and Buttery Spatzle -- Desserts -- German Black Forest Cake, Italian Tiramisu, Australian Vanilla Slice (Lemon Bar), Assorted French Pastries Coffee Station and Member Charge Bar Q: Do I need to wear a costume? A: No. Wear whatever makes you feel comfortable! Sunday is Games Day so wear game clothing (tennis, pickleball). BUT, if you want to dress up, Amazon and Ebay have several inexpensive outfits for purchase.Q: I want to eat and dance and watch. Do I have to play in the games? A: No. But the Surgeon General suggests you get up and move around from your dinning and drinking. Just stand up for the wave as it moves around Stadium Court. BUT, if you do play in the games, matches will be evenly matched, just for fun and short. You will have plenty of time for feasting and drinking in between matches. Q: I have plans for the Super Bowl Sunday evening. Can I still come? A: Yes! The games will wrap up in plenty of time for you to get to the big game. If you can’t make it to Sunday's games, just come as a spectator and we won’t put you on a team. (We will miss you, however.) And if you want to attend the dinner on Saturday, you get a sumptuous dinner and dancing to live music provided by High Voltage. Q: This all seems too good to be true? Is this a scam? A: Yes and No! It is too good to be true because it is your LTPA creating a sumptuous dinner with bold dancing to music for you. However, if someone claiming to be Sandy Mohlman calls and asks for $500 to help him get home from Mexico, hang up. It is probably a scam. Best regards, President Emeritus Sandy |
